Introduction to my work! :-

This is the first blog of my music magazine coursework project.  Over the course of this blog, I will show you how I have been building up ideas for my music magazine.
I am particularly interested in R&B, Hip-hop, pop, and chart music. The type of people I like to listen to are Katy Perry, Rihanna, Beyonce, Drake, Jason derulo, Bruno mars, Flo-rida, The saturdays, The Pussycat dolls etc.
The most natural choice of magazine for me to study would have been SmashHits however that folded in 2006 therefore to contribute to the R&B and Hip-hop side of things I will refer to VIBE and as for Pop and Chart music I could refer to Q magazine.
Vibe (http://www.vibe.com/) is a music and entertainment magazine founded by producer Quincy Jones. The publication predominantly features R&B and hip-hop music artists, actors and other entertainers.

Q (http://www.qthemusic.com/) magazine has an extensive review section, featuring: new releases (music), reissues (music), music compilations, film and live concert reviews, as well as radio and television reviews. It uses a star rating system from one to five stars; the rating an album receives in Q is often added to print and television advertising for the album in the UK and Ireland. It also compiles a list of approximately eight albums, which it classes as the best new releases of the last three months.
Much of the magazine is devoted to interviews with popular musical artists.
